LOWER SCHOOL (Grades K-3)

This summer our Lower School students will split the day between academic learning and fun.

Field Trips

TreePeople

Take a journey to discover the forest that exists within our city. Hike along the trails of Coldwater Canyon Park and learn about water, mulch, natural resources and trees through hands-on exploration. TreePeople’s Magical City Forest Eco-tours are fun, age-appropriate learning adventures.

Aquarium of the Pacific

Take a journey of discovery through the Aquarium of the Pacific in Long Beach, California. All Lower School students will head to the Aquarium of the Pacific for a day of fun and learning. Ties in with "Ocean Wet & Wild" theme week.

Swimming

Lower School students will swim every week at the Sierra Madre pool. Children who are new to swimming will receive instruction and "floaties" will be available.

Gymnastics

Beginning the second week of summer, Lower School students will go to a local gymnastics studio for an afternoon class every Monday to learn cartwheels, somersaults and other basic gymnastics moves.

Sleepover at Le Club Gymnastics

This gymnastics program is so fun it'll have you doing cartwheels! We'll start by doing a combination of sequences of movements requiring physical strength, flexibility, balance and endurance such as handsprings, handstands, split leaps, aerials and cartwheels. Students will walk the balance beam, practice pullovers, run and jump using the vaulting board and swing from the P-Bars and High Bars. Your child will feel a sense of accomplishment as they settle down for a pizza party in the super amazing 10,000 square foot facility. The large foam pit will undoubtedly be the highlight of the evening before snuggling into sleeping bags. In the morning students will enjoy a hearty breakfast before heading back to the school campus.

Horseback Riding

We'll lasso up the buckaroos and head on down to the Griffith Park Corral for a bonanza of a good time. Younger wranglers will ride the ponies in a fenced area while the older desperados will ride the hills on their broncos! Afterwards there will be no time for siestas. We'll be too busy sippin' sasparillas in Travel Town. Giddy up!
